Air Force Common Admission Test Course Coaching
The Indian Air Force (IAF) holds a competitive examination called the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) to choose qualified applicants for its Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical) Branch, and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch. The AFCAT examination is given twice a year by the Indian Air Force (IAF). Online AFCAT applications are submitted by candidates who want to join the Indian Air Force.
Candidates who want to pass the AFCAT exam must perform exceedingly well at each step of the selection process. Candidates are invited to the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview if they pass the AFCAT online test.
Candidates who are applying for the AFCAT Ground Duty (Technical Branch) must take the AFCAT online test and the Engineering Knowledge Test. Whereas, the candidates from Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch appear only for the AFCAT exam.
AFCAT Selection Process:
The selection process of AFCAT will be in stages. The first stage will be a written examination followed by AFSB Interview for candidates who qualify the written examination. The AFSB Interview consists of Psychological and Group Task tests followed by Personal Interview. Successful candidates are tested for medical fitness. The selection process is as follows.

AFCAT Eligibility:
The aspiring candidates while applying must ensure that they are eligible as per prescribed standards. Candidates should meet all the required criteria as which are given out as follows:-
Nationality:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
Marital Status:
- When the course starts, the candidates must be Unmarried.
- Widows/Widowers are not eligible to apply.
- Even after passing the SSB and medical, a candidate who marries after the submission date of his application will not be qualified for training.
AFCAT Flying Branch & NCC Entry Eligibility:
Age Limit:(Flying Branch)
- Minimum Age – 20 years.
- Maximum Age – 24 years.
AFCAT Ground Duty Eligibility:
Age Limit:
- Minimum Age – 20 years.
- Maximum Age – 26 years.
Note: Candidates must be below 25 years of age and should be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE(L)} | Candidates with minimum 50% in Physics and Mathematics examination at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years graduation degree /integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University OR passed Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of60% marks or equivalent in Computer Engineering/Technology, Electrical or equivalent discipline. |
Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE(M)} | Candidates must have a minimum of a 50 percent grade in maths and physics at the 10+2 level and a minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited university in engineering or technology OR they must have passed the Sections A & B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers or the Aeronautical Society of India by actual study with a least of 60 percent marks or an equivalent grade in aerospace, mechanical, or a related field. |

Meteorology | passed the 10+2 exam and obtained a graduate degree in any science field, as well as in mathematics, statistics, geography, computer applications, environmental science, applied physics, oceanography, meteorology, agricultural meteorology, ecology and environmental biology, with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 50%. (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level with a minimum of 55 percent marks in each) AFCAT Physical Standard Test |
The applicants must be physically capable of carrying out their military duties. When reporting for the AFSB Interview, candidates are advised to keep themselves physically fit. The following tasks must be finished by a candidate during the AFCAT Physical Standard Test.
- Run 1.6 km (miles) in ten minutes
- 10 pushups
- 3 Chin-ups
In order to adjust to physical training at the Air Force Academy (AFA), which entails swimming, running, rope climbing, and other physical activities, it is also advised that the candidates be in good physical condition.
